The Bridge over the River ‘Xúquer’

In 1911 the town councils of Albalat and Polinyà asked the Ministry of Public Works to build a bridge over the Júcar, with the support of Francisco Peris Mencheta, a member of Parliament for this district. The project was approved on November 8, 1812 by Royal Decree and the works were inaugurated on January 14, 1917. The bridge replaced the Albalat boat that served as a crossing, it is a bow-string system and has two iron arches that support the deck with iron braces and blades, it was a design by engineer Arturo Monfort.
