The Municipal Market

The market was built in 1901 according to the plans of the architect Manuel Peris who incorporated new structural construction materials: the cast iron columns and the iron beams that support the roof. With the opening of the Paseo de la Gran Vía del País Valencià, it had to be demolished, and in 1948 the current one was built, according to the plans of the architect Juan Guardiola, who took advantage of a large part of the previous structural construction material. The limit of the market is closed with an open wall and two wooden canopies with curvilinear tops that match with the entrances.
